TUMA 2026 – The Conference of Cross-cutting Novelties in Chemistry

La conferenza interregionale TUMA 2026, organizzata dalle sezioni Toscana, Umbria, Marche e Abruzzo della Società Chimica Italiana, si terrà a Urbino dal 28 al 30 ottobre 2026, presso la Sala degli Incisori del Collegio Raffaello.

Il congresso sarà dedicato alla presentazione e alla discussione di attività di ricerca in ambito chimico, con particolare attenzione ai contributi di giovani ricercatori, assegnisti, dottorandi e post-doc. Il programma comprenderà comunicazioni orali, sessioni poster, Keynote Lectures e una Opening Lecture, con un focus sulle tematiche trasversali e multidisciplinari delle scienze chimiche.

Sono previste quattro selezioni per le Keynote Awards riservate a giovani ricercatori under 35 (nati dopo il 16 settembre 1990).

Le principali scadenze sono:

La partecipazione dei giovani ricercatori sarà sostenuta attraverso quote di iscrizione ridotte. La quota di iscrizione prevista per i non soci comprende anche l’iscrizione alla Società Chimica Italiana per l’anno di riferimento.

Tutte le quote di iscrizione comprendono inoltre la partecipazione alla cena sociale presso Palazzo Ducale.

 

 

The TUMA 2026 conference, organized by the Tuscany, Umbria, Marche and Abruzzo Sections of the Italian Chemical Society (SCI), will take place in Urbino from October 28 to 30, 2026, at the Sala degli Incisori of Collegio Raffaello.

The conference will focus on the presentation and discussion of research activities in the field of chemistry, with particular attention to contributions from young researchers, research fellows, PhD students and postdoctoral researchers. The programme will include oral communications, poster sessions, Keynote Lectures and an Opening Lecture, with a focus on cross-cutting and multidisciplinary topics in the chemical sciences.

Four Keynote Selection Awards are available for young researchers under 35 (born after September 16, 1990).

The participation of young researchers will be supported through reduced registration fees. For non-members, the registration fee also includes membership of the Italian Chemical Society (SCI) for the relevant year.

All registration fees also include participation in the social dinner at Palazzo Ducale.

UNISI FUTURE SKILLS – TRAINING PROGRAMME

The “UniSi Future Skills” integrated training programme is now launching, designed to strengthen the transversal and digital skills of final-year students and recent graduates of the University, while fostering connections with the job market and promoting academic entrepreneurship.

The programme is structured into three complementary training tracks, combining lectures, workshops, project work, and mentoring activities to support progressive skills development:

  • MicroImprendo – 24 hours (20 places available)
    An introductory course focused on the fundamentals of entrepreneurship and the development of a basic business plan.
  • AI for Future – 40 hours (15 places available)
    An experiential programme focused on digital skills and artificial intelligence, applied to emerging professional and entrepreneurial contexts.
  • LIF.E. – Life Entrepreneurship – 96 hours (15 places available)
    An advanced course in entrepreneurship within the Life Sciences, including modules on business planning, project management, and technological innovation.

BOEHRINGER PHD COURSE IN MEDICINAL AND PROCESS CHEMISTRY – 8TH ED.- NOVEMBER 25–27, 2026

Applications are now open for the 8th edition of the Boehringer PhD Course in Medicinal and Process Chemistry, aimed at PhD students in the second half of their doctoral studies.

This course offers a unique opportunity for young scientists to gain insight into the role of medicinal and process chemists in the pharmaceutical industry, supporting informed career choices. Participants will explore the multidisciplinary nature of drug discovery and engage directly with experienced scientists through lectures, interactive sessions, and poster presentations.

- Who should apply:
PhD students with a strong background in organic chemistry, solid laboratory experience, and a keen interest in drug discovery and development, combined with excellent communication skills.
