From 21st to 24th OCTOBER Prof. Andruniow from the Technical University of Wroclaw (Poland) will give 4 lectures of 90 minutes each, presenting the basics of molecular dynamics.
Students will be able to perform calculations personally using their LAPTOPS.
Summary Program of the course
Lecture 1: Basics of molecular dynamics.
• The roots of molecular mechanics (MM)/molecular dynamics (MD).
• Characteristics of MD: Newton formalism, integration schemes, force fields.
Lectures 2-4: Hands-on workshop on using molecular dynamics in biomolecular simulations.
• Ubiquitin protein in water.
• Protein dimer in water.
• β-hairpin unfolding.

Master class #1: Cancer immunotherapy: from the past to the future (2h).
Master class #2: Cancer immunotherapy: current progress and prospects (2h).
Interactive lesson #1: Biological drugs' efficiency (2h).
Workshop #1: case-report exercise: effectiveness of biological drugs in solid tumors (2h).
The course will be held both in person and remotely. Participation in the course can be recognized in terms of training credits.

- Lecture 1: Introduction to mass spectrometry and a brief overview of the main ionization techniques (EI, ESI, APCI, ICP e MALDI) – April 24, 2024, 15:00 - 17:00.
- Lecture 2: Clinical applications in endocrinology – May 8, 2024, 15:00 - 17:00.
- Lecture 3: Clinical applications in fields other than endocrinology, food composition studies and detection of adulterations, characterization of drug metabolites –May 14, 2024, 15:00 - 17:00.
The lectures are part of the didactic activity of the PhD program and will be held in english.

Organizzato dalla Federazione Italiana Scienze della Vita FISV per il 25 e 26 gennaio prossimi. Il corso, erogato in italiano, si avvarrà di alcuni fra i massimi esperti italiani del settore, potrà essere seguito in presenza, presso la sede dell'Università degli Studi di Milano (Via Festa del Perdono, 7 - Aula 201), oppure da remoto.
